Gate Repair Before & After in Fort Worth, TX

Anyone can say they fix gates. Photos of the actual work tell you whether a repair will hold up through a Texas summer or sag again by fall. On this page, we show the jobs we see most across Fort Worth: bent posts, dead operators, gates dragging on driveways, and latches that stopped latching. Each project below is a real scenario our techs have handled, with the before, the work, and the after laid out plainly.

Sagging Double Gate on a Sloped Driveway in Wedgwood

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Placeholder: Before photo showing gate leaves overlapping unevenly; after photo showing aligned gate leaves. Wedgwood, Fort Worth.

One leaf had pulled the hinge post far enough out of plumb that the gates overlapped by four inches at the center and the latch would not catch. Fort Worth’s clay soil swells and shrinks with the seasons, and on a slope like this one, water sits at the post base after every storm. We pulled the post, set a new one in concrete deeper than the original, rehung both leaves with fresh hinges, and adjusted the center latch so it catches with one hand. The photos show the line across the top of the gate before and after: crooked to dead level.

Dead LiftMaster Operator on an Arlington Heights Swing Gate

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Placeholder: Before photo showing gate closed and unresponsive; after photo showing gate mid-swing with new operator mounted. Arlington Heights, Fort Worth.

The control board had taken a power surge and the operator would not respond to the remote, the keypad, or the open button inside. Instead of replacing the whole arm, we diagnosed the board, quoted a replacement board plus a surge protector, and had the gate opening again the same afternoon. We also adjusted the open and close limits so the gate no longer banged against the stop at the end of travel. The difference in the video stills, not just the photos, is the gate easing to a stop instead of slamming.

Rusted Gate Frame and Broken Latch in Ryan Place

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Placeholder: Before photo showing flaking rust and missing latch hardware; after photo showing cleaned, primed, painted frame and new latch. Ryan Place, Fort Worth.

A steel pedestrian gate had rusted through at the bottom rail, and the latch had been shimmed with a bent nail by a previous owner. We cut out the rotted section, welded in new steel, ground the welds flush, primed, and painted to match. Then we fitted a proper latch with a keyed lock so the gate actually closes and stays closed. The before photo shows the gate leaning against the fence post; the after photo shows it standing square, and the latch works without lifting or wiggling.

Solar Ghost Controls Kit on a Ranchette Near Benbrook

Technician performing professional repair on a residential automatic gate hardware
Placeholder: Before photo showing manual gate tied open with rope; after photo showing solar panel and operator installed. Near Benbrook, Fort Worth.

The gate had no power run to it and the homeowners were tired of getting out of the truck twice a day, especially in the mud after rain. We installed a Ghost Controls solar kit with a battery box, a 10-watt panel angled for North Texas sun, and two remotes plus a wireless keypad. The gate now opens from the driver’s seat and holds its own charge even through the short winter days. The before photo shows a gate held open with a bungee cord; the after photo shows the same gate closing under power.

Bent Post and Misaligned Track on a Rolling Gate in Saginaw

Professional welding and iron gate repair service on a residential property
Placeholder: Before photo showing gate off its track and leaning outward; after photo showing gate re-tracked and post straightened. Saginaw, Fort Worth area.

A delivery truck clipped the gate and pushed the end post inward, which pinched the guide wheels and threw the gate off its track. We used a hydraulic ram to straighten the post, then reset the track in fresh concrete and adjusted the rollers so the gate rolls with one finger instead of needing a shoulder. The before shot shows the gate hanging at an angle with daylight under the bottom corner; the after shows it closed square against the post with an even gap top to bottom.

FAAC Hydraulic Ram Rebuild on an Estate Gate in Montserrat

Professional contractor applying weather-resistant sealant during metal gate post repair
Placeholder: Before photo showing leaking ram with oil stains on the concrete; after photo showing clean ram and dry concrete. Montserrat, Fort Worth.

The gate had slowed to a crawl and then started leaving a dime-sized oil spot on the driveway every morning. The FAAC ram had blown a seal. We pulled the ram, rebuilt it with a new seal kit, refilled the hydraulic fluid, and bled the system so the gate moves at its original speed. The before photo catches the oil sheen on the concrete; the after shows the same patch dry after we degreased it. A ram rebuild costs a fraction of a full operator swap, and the gate works like it did when it was new.
